You will pass by the statue of the Dacian king, Decebalus, chiseled into the mountin rock; by the Mraconia Valley and by the the Mraconia Monastery on the Danube bank. Ahead of Dubova , you can bike up to Svinita (the biggest Serbian community in Romania), passing by the ruins of the medieval fort "Tri Kule" (14th century). Those who like the mountain biking can climb to Eibenthal, a village inhabited by Czechs coming from Bohemia during the colonization of Banat.

The Danube river provides excellent conditions for fishing a wide variety of freshwater fish: Carp (Rom: Crap), Crucian Carp (Rom: Caras), Carp Bream (Rom: Platica), Catfish (Rom: Somn), Pike-Perch (Salau), Pike (Rom: Stiuca), Danube Bleak (Rom: Oblete). In the Danube Gorge, Svinita area (60 km from Orsova) is considered to be the most spectacular place for fishing in Romania. Here, the keen fishermen can get them both: the perfect river for fishing and the splendor of the surroundings.
